Why Lonzo Ball Is Next The Michael Carter Williams

Michael Carter Williams Was A highly rated high school star who was a lottery pick and highly touted as a potential NBA star. Lonzo Ball was a highly rated high school prospect and lottery pick touted as a future NBA star. Sound Familiar? Let's take a closer look.

.673

This was Lonzo Ball's free throw percentage in college which usually a very good indicator of shooting percentage. What was the college free throw percentage of Michael Carter Williams the year he was drafted? .694 interesting to say the least. Add in a similar slight frame and something that Carter Williams never had to deal with the distractions of a boastful father desperately riding his son's coattails and it is not hard to see a lot of similar question marks.

Now many will look at Carter Williams as a knock however I truly believe if he had been healthy he would have developed into a serviceable NBA starter. However injuries really sidetracked Carter Williams development. He was the Rookie of the year with a line over 16 PPG over 6 APG and Over 6 RPG. My argument is that Ball will be a decent starter but because of his questionable jump shot and poor free throw shooting he won't ever be a star.

Can Ball prove my doubts wrong? We shall see but I honestly think the hype has gone well beyond his playing ability. Thank you Lavar and good job fueling the hype machine. What do you think? Let me know in the comment s below.
